The 5 Best Lunch77 Free Trap Drum Kits [2022]

If you’re looking to improve the quality of your music production, the fastest and most effective way
to do this is through making use of sample packs and drum kits. If you’re wondering why your beats
just aren’t punching as hard as you expect them do, despite spending months learning the in and outs
of Ableton or Fl Studio, what you’re most likely encountering is simply a case of poor samples.
You can lay out a beat exactly the same as Metro Boomin, but without the right kicks, hi hats and snares
it is just going to sound bland and generic.

So, now that we know how to improve the quality of your trap beat productions, where do we find some good
free trap drum kits? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Once you know where to look you will have
thousands of sounds to get exactly what you want, all for free. It’s worth mentioning that there are some
fantastic paid drum kits which are definitely worth the money, but in all honesty when it comes to
drum kits I mainly use free ones.

Free vs. Paid Trap Drum Kits

Before we take a look at the best free kits, why would anyone buy a premium drum kit? Well, there are a few reasons why you might want to consider paying for a drum kit. With the good ones at least, premium drum kits are full of totally original sounds which are crisp and high quality. It might be that you are trying to make a totally unique type of beat which the free trap drum kits don’t offer. If you find yourself under this category, then it might be worth paying for a kit.

If you haven’t heard of this absolute saviour already, lunch77 compiles free drum kits
to help you make beats just like your favourite producer. He posts links to his drum kits
on reddit, and boy, has he smashed it.
Here are a list of some of my go-to kits I use every day, courtesy of Lunch77.
Chief Keef Drumkit
Kenny Beats Drumkit
Nick Mira Drumkit
Tyler the Creator Drumkit
Pierre Bourne Drumkit

This absolute mad lad has made so many drum kits, all free to download, that he’s compiled
a SPREADSHEET just to make getting the download links easier. That’s right, he has so many
free to use drumkits that it’s dificult to search through them without a spreadsheet of links…

If this sounds like exactly what you have been looking for, here is a link.

Go ahead and take a look through the spreadsheet and find the ones you want, but here are my personal
top 5 picks for the best Lunch77 free trap drum kits.

5. Free Chief Keef Drum Kit

Chief Keef Producing

This drum kit has everything you need to make drums like Chief Keef. Some of you may only know of
him as a rapper, but he is also a pretty fantastic producer, with production credits on Lil Uzi’s Eternal Atake.
If you check out the credits on “Chrome Heart Tags”, you can see that Chief Keef is credited as the sole
producer of the song! Chief Keef’s production is clearly inspired by the Chicago Drill scene, but he has taken
it in a more surreal, abstract direction over the last few years. If you like making synth heavy, bass boosted
tracks then you will no doubt fall in love with this kit.

Suffice to say this drum kit hits hard, and is definitely worth downloading.

4. Free Kenny Beats Drum Kit

Kenny Beats

It’s pretty hard to find a good but free Kenny Beats drum kit. Kenny Beats doesn’t strictly produce trap beats,
and his productions are very unique which makes it all the more difficult to find sounds that will help you emulate that sort of vibe. Luckily Lunch77 scours through footage and finds the exact sounds these producers use which is an absolute blessing.

3. Free Nick Mira Drum Kit

Nick Mira Breaking down “Lucid Dreams”

Nick Mira has dozens of huge hits under his belt at this point, with arguably his most famous track being
“Lucid Dreams” by Juice Wrld. I think just about everyone on the planet has heard that song at least once.
If you want to make hard hitting drums like Nick Mira, you can’t go wrong with using this kit as a good start.
Of course there is a lot more to making amazing beats than just the drum kit sounds, but it certainly doesn’t hurt
to give yourself some good sounds to start off with. Expect clean, hard hitting kicks and crisp hi hats. The video above is a good breakdown, but just a quick warning – the audio clips super bad so perhaps turn it down a bit first, lol.

2. Free Tyler The Creator Drum Kit

Tyler the Creator is credited for the production of “Yonkers”

Similar to Kenny Beats, it’s pretty hard to argue that Tyler the Creator makes any trap beats at all, but the
sounds provided in this free drum kits can work for a wide range of productions, from trap beats all the way to
grimy, off tempo, lo-fi rap beats. Tyler the Creator is known for having an extremely wide range of styles throughout
his discography and this is reflected in how varied this kit is. You’ll find sounds in here you would likely
have never even considered using before.

1. Free Pierre Bourne Drum Kit

Magnolia by Playboi Carti is famously produced by Pierre Bourne – Yo, Pierre, you wanna come out here??

I absolutely love this drumkit. I would go so far as to say I couldn’t live without it. The sounds from this drum kit
have been used in countless tracks I have produced, and have (combined) been heard tens of millions of times. I really
like the more simple, vibrant style of beat that Pierre Bourne is known for and I try to keep my production simple
and uncomplicated. If you just want all killer no filler, give this kit a try. Absolutely stellar. I honestly use
it far more than most of the other kits I have that I’ve paid up to £35 for.
